Hi, you're in the right place. The website is currently being rewhacked. Here are some direct links:
Philosopher Harry G. Frankfurt created a theory of bullshit that defines the concept, and analyzes the applications of bullshit in the contexts of communication. Frankfurt defines bullshit as "speech intended to persuade without regard for truth". In contrast, a liar cares about the truth and attempts to hide it. The bullshitter doesn't care if what they say is true or false, but only cares whether or not their listener is persuaded. So President Mango Mussolini is a bullshitter and a liar. Frankfurt originally published the essay "On Bullshit" in 1986. Twenty years later, the essay was re-published in book form as "On Bullshit" (2005), which spent 27 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list. The 2005 book/essay was the foundation for his analogous follow-up book, "On Truth" I took this photo in Piccadilly, London Fri Nov 13. It seems appropriate.
